Allowing God to Do His Business
Ashley March.24.2003
Spring break is meant to be a break, hence the clever name, but mine was nothing of the sort. Rather I spent my spring break running 15 miles, taping blistered fingers, having allergic reactions to who knows what, getting sunburned, raking leafs, pulling weeds, etc., etc.. I was busy and tired, but the Lord blessed me in many ways through all I was doing.
Prior to break, I had been worrying a great deal about money. I quit my job last month, and I still have bills to worry about. I wasn't terribly "stressed," just concerned. Well, over break the Crew team held a fundraiser appropriately named "Rent-A-Rower." Well, four out of the five people I have worked for so far would like to hire me again for other things. Awesome. One man even offered to pay me $15/hour to paint some bedrooms for him!! God couldn't have provided me with such awesome opportunities at any better of a time. He really does take care of His children.
I know I've mentioned this concept before, but let me reiterate it now: Prayer Works! Amazing and yet a complete mystery.
A lot has happened in the last three months, and I have never been more in love with my God. He has taught me so much, and I am so grateful for all the doors He has opened to me. Through friends, enemies, teammates, family and even myself, God has educated me on what it means to be a true servant. I've also learned that trust and faith aren't really the same thing. Having faith means believing even when you don't trust anymore...I will always have faith in God even when I don't trust His judgement ;) Father truly knows best.
I challenge everyone to look at their lives and count their blessings. Sometimes we forget all the little things God has given us, and I'll testify that those "little things" really add up. God doesn't short change you -- Don't short change Him either.
Remember: Please lift up the world right now in your prayers. I know opinions are differing on the war, but the facts are still facts. We are at war, and we have several thousand Americans defending the world. Don't forget to lift them up to God in your prayers. And despite what you feel about the President, he is still the man leading our country...please lift him up as well as he guides us through these difficult times.
