Where do you find strength?

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

Wow, it sure has been a while since I last posted...It goes without saying, especially for those of you who know me, that I've been busy the last few weeks. The Lord has blessed my life in several ways, and I've been hastily trying to keep up with His pace. There are days in which I fail and fall behind, but to my amazement, He has never left my side despite my dragging, tired feet.

I found out last week that the Kids Across America camp that I’m working at this summer would like me to stay second term in addition to first term. That means I’ll be gone May 21 – July 19. I’ve never been away from home for that long before, and although I readily accepted the offer, I am very scared. I often doubt my strengths as a Christian. I battle with Satan more and more every day about the silliest things. Why is he attacking me? Surely there are stronger Christians out there who could put up a better fight. {Sigh} Satan pursues me because he knows just which buttons to push to make me stumble and fall.

“Father please forgive me for I can not compose
The fear that lives within me
Or the rate at which it grows
If struggle has a purpose on the narrow road you've carved
Why do I dread my trespasses will leave a deadly scar
Do they see the fear in my eyes? Are they so revealing?
This time I cannot disguise all the doubt I'm feeling

What if I stumble, what if I fall?
What if I lose my step and I make fools of us all?
Will the love continue when my walk becomes a crawl?
What if I stumble, and what if I fall?”

DC Talk said it best in that song. I want to encourage everyone as we begin yet another month this week to always have hope and strength in God. No matter how many times we lose faith, no matter how many times we fail, no matter how many times we get scared at the pathway in front of our feet, He will always love us.

When you feel alone or desperate, seek His heart because the Lord is the only one who can fill the voids in our lives. Only He can replenish our spirits, and I challenge you to chase after God when you’re down as well as when you’re up. Don’t forget to praise Him for the great things He is doing in your life. Be in constant prayer and always know that only our Father in Heaven can fulfill us eternally.
